Moscow Ballet’s Great Russian Nutcracker is performed at The Curtis Peterson Auditorium at Lecanto High School, which hosts world-class artists, up and coming high school actors and musicians, and more community events. Popular past events at the Auditorium include The Drifters, Debbie Cole’s School of Dance Recitals, Summer Reading Finale: Take Me to Your Readers, the High School Jazz Band and, for the past 3 years, the Phil Royal Legacy donation award ceremony which has donated over $26,000 to the Citrus County School District’s Safety Patrol Program to fund trips to Washington, D.C. for members of the Safety Patrol. Lecanto High School encourages all the students and staff to become active and lifelong learners and provides a positive learning environment so that students and staff can develop to their full potential to meet the needs of and participate in a global society.
Moscow Ballet’s Great Russian Nutcracker
Moscow Ballet has toured the United States and Canada during the holiday season since 1993 and is exclusively represented by Talmi Entertainment Inc for these tours. There are 70 to 80 Russian-trained classical dancers on the annual N.A. tour who fly in from the former republic of Russia. Stanislav Vlasov, a former principal artist of the Bolshoi Ballet, was the first artistic director on the North American tour in 1993. Vlasov’s debut in the United States was at Carnegie Hall in 1957.
