Moscow Ballet & Local Phoenix Ballet Partnership: Heart and Sole Performing Arts
Nutcracker wouldn’t be Nutcracker without the local Children’s cast! Dancing along side the full professional Russian cast are local Phoenix children from Heart and Sole Performing Arts. Heart and Sole Performing Arts is located in the beautiful cities of Avondale and Surprise, AZ and owned by John and Jolena Payan. Its mission is to create an atmosphere of passion, discipline and respect for the art of dance. Children who discover and develop their artistic voice early on, build self confidence that carries over into their academic and social lives. The school wants children to walk away from every class feeling happy with their accomplishments and the work it took to get there. In each class instructors strive to give children the encouragement and direction they need to excel.
Heart and Sole Performing Arts is committed to using music, costuming and dance movements that are age appropriate and family friendly. In the coming years, instructors hope to culturally enrich and be an active part of the communities they serve. Conversely, it is important for students to experience dance beyond the schools’ walls through various performance opportunities, master classes and touring companies such as Moscow Ballet. Lastly, Heart and Sole Performing Arts believes that dance is a family affair, and students of all ages and abilities are welcome.
